I am SO SORRY to read of your beautiful, beloved, athletic, and loving daughter Kelli’s horrible automobile accident and her sad, sudden death. Please accept my deepest condolences.
I TRULY know the pain, anguish and devastation you feel as you continue to ask…”WHY”. Your daughter, Kelli radiates so much love, life and happiness with all those who were touched by her wonderful life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, as you travel along this horrible journey.
As I read about your beautiful daughter, I am sure, your daughter touched so many in her life; she will forever be an amazing young woman, loved and cherished by so many. I know how proud you are of her many achievements. I hope that these memories will provide you some comfort on your darkest days of grief.
I understand that the death of a child is the most devastating event of a parent’s life. The road of grief is a LONG, PAINFUL and DIFFICULT journey; we as bereaved parents and our families need to live “one breath at a time”.
My wife Bernice and I are the parents of a beautiful, loving, heavenly Angel Danielle Marie. On February 20th, 2006 at 11 years 1 month and 17 days old, our beautiful, precious and life-loving, young daughter, Danielle Marie died at 10:59am in an automobile collision in Sturbridge, MA. She died of a massive traumatic head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene. We also have a wonderful, handsome 15 year old son, Jonathan.

The accident  / Mom

The accident Tuesday morning was a scary experience.  We were hit head-on.  Lucky for us, our truck wasn't moving at the time, or else the engine would have been in our laps.  Right away I was afraid your dad was seriously hurt, however there was not a single mark on his chest.  Not a one, except for his healing quadruple bypass surgical scar.  Amazing.  I'm the who got banged up a bit, and I am off of work for a bit now, but it could have been so much worse.  We know that.  Immediately afterwards, we know you were there from the many little signs you gave to us.  Upon impact, my glasses apparently flew off of my face, but your dad found them folded up nice and neat in the side pocket of the passenger door with not a mark on the lenses.  A big thank you for that one, because, as you know, I am blind as a bat without my glasses.  Thank you for being our guardian angel Kel.  We love you. xoxoxo

This past week, your presence has been exceptionally strong.  A lot of your favorite songs have played on the radio as I've been thinking about you or as I have turned on the radio.  Great timing  :-).  I can hear you say, of course, with a smile on your face.  There have also been your many "little" things that have happened around the house and in the car.  Well, the other day as I sat out at the cemetery visiting with you (yes, I know you're not "there", but it gives me a peaceful place to sit and visit), I thanked you for all of your songs and signs.  Coincidences?  Not.  Especially not with the timing of my thoughts.

Anyway, as I sat out on your bench, I asked you to knock my socks off and give me a strong sign that absolutely could not be mistaken for anything else but you.  I acknowledged all of your songs and "little" things you do, but I wanted your birthday sign(s) to be really strong.  I wanted the comfort of knowing that you were going to be with us on your birthday weekend.  How does the saying go?...Ask and ye shall receive.  You did it girl, and you did it good  :-) .  You have warmed our hearts and left smiles on our faces.

Today has been a "Kelli" day devoted to things you would have done.  We went to the State Fair for a few hours in blistering heat.  We survived though  .  We ate "Kelli" food - a turkey leg, a corn dog, a chocolate covered banana, and fresh taffy, and topped it off with an ice cold lemon shake-up.  We needed all of that to get us through the heat!  We were going to go for the funnel cake, but it was just too hot to go for something greasy and sweet.  We had good intentions though!  Dinner is going to be a "Kelli" dinner - grilled pork chops with all the trimmings.  

In between all of our doings today has been a lot of conversation about you full of sweet, sweet memories, as well as smiles.  The lumps in my throat have been there a time or two, but the sweet memories have chased them away time and time again.  We have done our very best on your birthday to celebrate your life which was so very full of love.  Celebrate Your Life.  I like that.  So, while we continue to Celebrate Your Life on your special day, I hope that you have a beautiful evening in Heaven with all of your Angel friends.  Have a great party!
